You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love is Olivia Rodrigo's third studio album, released in 2026 through Geffen Records. Produced by longtime collaborator Dan Nigro, the album marks a stylistic shift from the pop rock sound of Sour and Guts, drawing instead from a broader palette of influences while maintaining Rodrigo's focus on emotionally direct songwriting.
Written during a period that included extended time in London, the album explores themes of love, longing, insecurity, and self reflection. Its track list is divided into two thematic halves, Girl So in Love and You Seem Pretty Sad, reflecting the contrast between romance and uncertainty that runs throughout the record. The album includes the singles “Drop Dead” and “The Cure”, both of which achieved significant chart success.
Released following the conclusion of the Guts era, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love received strong commercial attention and was described by Rodrigo as her most experimental album to date, expanding her sound while continuing the confessional approach that defined her earlier work.
