Copies of Old Masters Vol. 1 is a 2025 EP by Canadian post-hardcore band Alexisonfire, marking their first release since Otherness (2022). The four-track collection finds the band reinterpreting songs from ‘90s Canadian acts that influenced their early years, including The Tragically Hip, Rusty, Shallow North Dakota, and Doughboys.
Recorded in the spirit of homage rather than reinvention, the EP captures Alexisonfire’s signature intensity while maintaining the spirit of the original songs. Each track reflects a different corner of the Canadian alternative landscape—from Rusty’s grunge-influenced drive to the anthemic storytelling of The Tragically Hip—filtered through the band’s heavy, melodic framework.
