Where's My Utopia? is the second studio album by British band Yard Act, released in 2024 through Island Records. Following their debut The Overload, the album expands beyond the band’s earlier post punk sound with a broader, more rhythm driven approach.
The record incorporates disco, pop, art rock, and electronic influences while retaining frontman James Smith’s conversational vocal style and observational writing. “Dream Job”, “Petroleum”, “We Make Hits”, and “When the Laughter Stops” introduced the album, with the songs addressing success, work, identity, and the complications that followed the band’s rapid rise.
Where's My Utopia? reached the UK Top 10 and received widespread critical acclaim, with particular attention given to its expanded arrangements and willingness to move beyond the sound of the band’s debut.
