40 Dayz & 40 Nightz is the second studio album by Xzibit, released in 1998 through Loud Records and RCA Records. Recorded across several Los Angeles area studios, the album features production from Sir Jinx, Bud'da, E Swift, Mel Man, Soopafly, The Glove, Xzibit, and others, expanding the sound established on his debut.
The record is rooted in West Coast hip hop while drawing on a wide group of collaborators from Xzibit's immediate circle and beyond. Guest appearances include Tha Alkaholiks, King Tee, Defari, Montage One, Ras Kass, Saafir, Jayo Felony, and Method Man. Singles included "What U See Is What U Get," "Los Angeles Times," "Pussy Pop," and "3 Card Molly," with "What U See Is What U Get" becoming one of Xzibit's highest charting singles.
40 Dayz & 40 Nightz debuted at number 58 on the Billboard 200 and number 14 on the Top R&B and Hip Hop Albums chart. The album helped broaden Xzibit's profile at the end of the 1990s while maintaining his connections to the Likwit Crew and the wider West Coast rap scene.
