A Charlie Brown Christmas is the eighth studio album by American jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi, released in 1965 through Fantasy Records alongside the debut of the A Charlie Brown Christmas television special. Guaraldi composed most of the music himself, working with bassist Fred Marshall and drummer Jerry Granelli, while also incorporating traditional Christmas material including "O Tannenbaum."
The album combines Guaraldi's piano led jazz with seasonal standards and original compositions written for the Peanuts special. "Linus and Lucy," originally recorded for an earlier Peanuts project, became one of the pieces most closely associated with the franchise, while "Skating" and "Christmas Time Is Here" were written specifically for the Christmas production. A children's choir from St. Paul's Episcopal Church also appears on the vocal material.
A Charlie Brown Christmas was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry. In 2026, it was certified six times Platinum in the United States, making it the best selling jazz album of all time.
