NEW DOUBLE LP
New sealed copy. 2018 remastered reissue on 180 gram vinyl.
The Best of 1980–1990 is the first greatest hits compilation by Irish rock band U2, released in 1998. The collection focuses on the band's major singles and key recordings from the 1980s, while also including live staples and a newly recorded version of the 1987 song "Sweetest Thing."
The album covers material from the period that established U2 internationally, drawing from records including Boy, War, The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, and Rattle and Hum. A limited edition was also issued with a second disc of B sides, expanding the collection with material from the same era.
The Best of 1980–1990 reached number one in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Ireland. The limited two disc edition debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and set a new United States opening week sales record for a greatest hits album by a group at the time.
