Breach is the eighth studio album by American duo Twenty One Pilots, released on September 12, 2025, through Fueled by Ramen. Serving as a follow-up to 2024’s Clancy, it concludes the conceptual narrative arc that began with Blurryface (2015) and continued through Trench (2018) and Scaled and Icy (2021).
Written primarily by vocalist Tyler Joseph and produced with longtime collaborator Paul Meany alongside Mike Elizondo, Breach incorporates alternative rock, pop rock, electropop, and touches of alternative hip hop. The album makes use of lyrical and sonic callbacks to previous records, while experimenting with electronic textures, tempo shifts, and piano-driven arrangements. Notably, it is the first album to feature drummer Josh Dun contributing lead vocals, appearing on the track “Drum Show.”
The album was promoted by several singles, beginning with “The Contract” in June 2025, followed by “Drum Show” and “City Walls,” the latter coinciding with the album’s release. To support the record, the band announced The Clancy Tour: Breach, a 23-date North American run extending the previous world tour.
Upon release, Breach received mostly positive reviews. Critics highlighted its role as a fitting conclusion to the band’s decade-long storyline, praising its strong hooks, lyrical ambition, and expanded instrumentation. Standout tracks such as “Downstairs” and “City Walls” were often singled out as evidence of the duo’s ability to balance narrative weight with mainstream accessibility.
