NEW LP
New sealed copy.
Three Days Grace's Alienation marks a major turning point for the Canadian rock band. Released on August 22, 2025, the album reunites original vocalist Adam Gontier with the group for the first time since 2012, while retaining Matt Walst, who joined in Gontier’s absence. Sharing lead vocal duties, Gontier and Walst front the band’s first studio effort as a quintet.
Written and recorded throughout 2024, Alienation was shaped across sessions in Canada, the U.S., and England, with production from Howard Benson, Dan Lancaster, and Zakk Cervini. The album builds on the remote workflow established during their 2022 LP Explosions, but leans further into live takes and collaborative writing, particularly at guitarist Barry Stock’s home studio in Indiana and in Franklin, Tennessee.
Musically, Alienation is a mix of classic Three Days Grace heaviness and newer textures. Tracks like “Dominate” and “Kill Me Fast” showcase a heavier edge, while “Don’t Wanna Go Home Tonight” channels ’90s alt rock. The album also experiments with unexpected elements, from a kalimba on the title track to a guest feature from violinist Lindsey Stirling on “Never Ordinary.” Lyrically, it explores isolation, inner collapse, and resilience—reflected in drummer Neil Sanderson’s description of the album as “a journey through inner collapse and outward defiance.”
The album was supported by four singles: “Mayday,” “Apologies,” “Dominate,” and “Kill Me Fast.” It arrives as both a creative rebirth and a nod to the band’s roots, striking a balance between past and present.
