NEW LP

New sealed copy. Black vinyl edition.

The World Is to Dig is the 24th studio album by They Might Be Giants, released on April 14, 2026. The album was developed over several years, with some material dating back to sessions before the band’s previous album Book. Songs like “Wu-Tang”, “Sleep’s Older Sister”, “Outside Brain”, and “Overnight Sensation (Hit Record)” were released ahead of the album and showcase the band’s mix of power pop, alt rock, experimental pop, and humor driven songwriting.

The title was inspired by the 1952 children’s book A Hole Is to Dig by Ruth Krauss, while the cover features a Yosemite Valley painting credited to After Thomas Hill. Recording stretched through 2025, with the band continuing to revise arrangements and swap in more upbeat material before completing the album.

Reviews were generally positive, with critics highlighting the band’s continued creativity more than four decades into their career. The album was supported by The Bigger Show Tour, which began shortly after the physical release in April 2026.
