Hurry Up Tomorrow, the sixth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter the Weeknd, was released on January 31, 2025, through XO and Republic Records. It features guest appearances from Justice, Anitta, Travis Scott, Florence and the Machine, Future, Playboi Carti, Giorgio Moroder, Lana Del Rey, and Swedish House Mafia (in a bonus edition). Production was handled primarily by the Weeknd, Mike Dean, Sage Skolfield, OPN, and Nathan Salon, with contributions from Justice, Moroder, Oscar Holter, Max Martin, Metro Boomin, Cirkut, DaHeala, ILYA, TBHits, Johnny Jewel, Ojivolta, Swedish House Mafia, and Pharrell Williams.
Hurry Up Tomorrow blends R&B, synth-pop, and trap with Brazilian funk and hip-hop. It concludes the Weeknd’s After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022) trilogies, with the After Hours til Dawn Tour supporting all three albums. The Weeknd suggests this may be his final album under the Weeknd name, hinting at a possible transition to his real name, Abel Tesfaye, or continuing as the Weeknd.
The album, preceded by “Timeless” and “São Paulo”, received positive reviews for its production, songwriting, vocal performances, and closure to the Weeknd’s debut mixtape, House of Balloons. Some critics called it a powerful finale to his trilogy and alter ego. The album’s closing song, the title track, ends the same way “High for This” begins, cycling Tesfaye’s career as the Weeknd.
