Pisces Iscariot is a compilation album by the Smashing Pumpkins, released in 1994 through Virgin Records. Assembled from B sides and outtakes recorded between 1989 and the Siamese Dream sessions, the collection includes home recordings, studio leftovers, and songs originally considered for Gish and Siamese Dream. Billy Corgan handled much of the sequencing, approaching the record as a carefully arranged mixtape rather than a conventional studio album.
The album moves between acoustic material, heavily distorted rock, and more psychedelic pieces, reflecting much of the range heard across the band's first two albums. Highlights include the stripped down "Soothe," James Iha's "Blew Away," the extended "Starla," "Hello Kitty Kat," "Obscured," and a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide."
Despite receiving little promotion, Pisces Iscariot reached number four on the Billboard 200, surpassing the peak of Siamese Dream, and was certified platinum in the United States. The band's version of "Landslide" also reached number three on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.
