NEW DOUBLE LP
New sealed copy. Plays back at 45 RPM.
Widow's Weeds is the fifth studio album by Silversun Pickups, released in 2019 through the band's own New Machine Recordings imprint. Produced by Butch Vig, the album marked the group's first collaboration with the longtime producer, whose approach emphasized contributions from each member and a more open recording process.
The album was created during a difficult period for frontman Brian Aubert, who later described the record as being less about sadness itself than about change, growth, and letting go. That perspective runs through songs such as "It Doesn't Matter Why" and "Freakazoid," with the band balancing its familiar layers of distorted guitar and atmospheric rock with a more polished and exposed sound.
Aubert described Widow's Weeds as a more open and revealing album than the band's previous work. Its themes of transition, mourning, and personal change give the record a reflective character while maintaining the expansive alternative rock sound associated with Silversun Pickups.
