Freak Show is the second studio album by Australian rock band Silverchair, released in 1997 through Murmur. Produced by Nick Launay, the album followed the international success of Frogstomp and marked a broader, more developed approach to the band's grunge and post grunge sound.
The record places greater emphasis on dynamics, heavier bass, and more varied arrangements, while its lyrics reflect some of the pressure and backlash that followed the band's rapid rise. Songs including "Freak," "Abuse Me," "Cemetery," and "The Door" became central to the album's identity.
Freak Show reached number one in Australia, was certified double platinum there, and earned gold certification in the United States.
