NEW DOUBLE LP
New sealed copy, 2023 reissue.
Gold is the second studio album by American singer songwriter Ryan Adams, released in 2001 through Lost Highway Records. Originally conceived by Adams as a double album, the project was condensed for its standard release, with five additional songs issued separately as the Side Four bonus disc.
The album includes "New York, New York," "When the Stars Go Blue," "The Rescue Blues," "Answering Bell," and "La Cienega Just Smiled." Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz contributes backing vocals to several tracks. "New York, New York" received increased exposure on MTV and VH1 following the September 11 attacks, while "When the Stars Go Blue" was later recorded by several other artists.
Gold became the best selling album of Adams' career and earned him Grammy nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for "New York, New York." It was also certified Gold in the United Kingdom.
