El Mal Querer is the second studio album by Spanish singer songwriter Rosalía, released in 2018 through Columbia Records. Written by Rosalía and co produced with El Guincho, it was developed initially as her graduation project at the Catalonia College of Music. The album is structured as a concept record inspired by the anonymous 13th century Occitan novel Flamenca, with each song corresponding to a chapter in its story.
Musically, the album combines flamenco with pop, R&B, reggaeton, and experimental electronic production. Songs including "Malamente," "Pienso en tu mirá," "Di Mi Nombre," "Bagdad," and "De Aquí No Sales" use traditional flamenco elements alongside programmed percussion, layered vocals, and contemporary production. Its lyrics deal with love, jealousy, control, and destructive relationships within the framework of the album's central narrative.
El Mal Querer reached number one in Spain and topped the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart. It won Album of the Year at the Latin Grammy Awards and later received the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album.
