Dance into the Light is the sixth studio album by Phil Collins, released in 1996 through Face Value Records. It was his first album after leaving Genesis and marked the beginning of his career as a full time solo artist. Collins reunited with producer Hugh Padgham, who had worked extensively with both Collins and Genesis.
The album was shaped by Collins's interest in African music, Bob Dylan, and more rhythm focused songwriting. He also made greater use of guitar while writing and removed the drum machine parts from the final recordings in favour of live drums. The album features a larger group of musicians than Both Sides, including Ronnie Caryl, Arnold McCuller, Amy Keys, and the Vine Street Horns. Songs include "Dance into the Light," "It's in Your Eyes," "Wear My Hat," "The Same Moon," and a version of Dylan's "The Times They Are a Changin'."
Dance into the Light reached number 23 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold in the United States. The title track also reached the top ten in the United Kingdom.
