My Brother the Cow is the fourth studio album by American rock band Mudhoney, released in 1995 through Reprise Records. Arriving several years into the band's major label period, the album continued Mudhoney's abrasive guitar sound while drawing openly on many of the punk and garage rock artists that had influenced the group.
Several songs contain direct musical or lyrical references to earlier bands. "F.D.K. (Fearless Doctor Killers)" refers to Bad Brains, "Orange Ball Peen Hammer" draws on Captain Beefheart and Led Zeppelin, and "1995" pays homage to the Stooges. Other tracks include "Generation Spokesmodel," "Into Yer Shtik," and "Judgement, Rage, Retribution and Thyme," several of which became regular parts of Mudhoney's live sets.
