NEW DOUBLE LP
New sealed copy. 2024 30th anniversary reissue.
Tical is the debut studio album by Method Man, released in 1994 through Def Jam Recordings. It was the first solo album issued by a Wu Tang Clan member following Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers), and was produced almost entirely by RZA.
The album pairs Method Man’s deep, rough edged delivery with RZA’s dark, murky production, built from heavy drums, sparse samples, and distorted textures. “Bring the Pain”, “Release Yo’ Delf”, and “All I Need” became key tracks from the record, while guest appearances include RZA, Raekwon, and Inspectah Deck.
Tical reached number four on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. It was certified platinum in the United States in 1995, with the success of “Bring the Pain” and the Mary J. Blige assisted remix of “I’ll Be There for You / You’re All I Need to Get By” extending Method Man’s profile beyond Wu Tang Clan.
