Marrow Deep is the ninth studio album by Mastodon, released in 2026 through Loma Vista Recordings. Produced by Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou and mixed by Andrew Scheps, it is the band's first album with guitarist Nick Johnston following the departure and death of founding guitarist Brent Hinds, and the first with keyboardist João Nogueira as an official member.
The album was shaped by a period of loss that included the deaths of Hinds and drummer Brann Dailor's mother. Musically, Marrow Deep moves toward a more direct heavy metal approach while retaining elements of progressive, sludge, and stoner metal, with Nogueira's keyboards taking a more prominent role.
Guest musicians include Josh Homme on "Snakes for Dinner," Geezer Butler and Joe Duplantier on "The Vanishing," and Randy Blythe on "A Vampire's Demeanor." The album was preceded by "Your Ghost Again," "Snakes for Dinner," and "In The Ruins," introducing the first Mastodon record made by the band's expanded five member lineup.
