NEW LP
New sealed copy. Limited edition liquid gold vinyl.
Released on May 2, 2025, Lucius marks the fifth studio album from the American indie pop band of the same name and stands as their most personal and introspective work to date. Issued via their own Wildewoman Music imprint in partnership with Fantasy Records, the album is a self-titled statement of identity, born from a period of personal grounding and creative recalibration.
Recorded in Los Angeles at Altamira Sound and producer Dan Molad’s home studio, Lucius finds the band leaning into raw, unvarnished emotion—what they describe as a homecoming. Written during a period marked by life changes, new beginnings, and close-to-home recording sessions, the band embraced themes of love, transition, and the impermanence of life. In their words, it’s “our story, who we are now and how we got here.”
The record features a handful of well-chosen collaborations: Impressions brings together Madison Cunningham and Ethan Gruska in a meditation on growth and identity; Stranger Danger features Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith; and Old Tape adds the textured touch of Adam Granduciel from The War on Drugs.
Lead single Gold Rush channels the chaotic push and pull of infatuation with grit and swagger, while Impressions and Do It All for You delve into vulnerability and devotion with trademark vocal interplay and lyrical nuance.
Rooted in the band's signature blend of rich harmonies and emotionally open songwriting, Lucius is both a sonic expansion and a return to core truths—offering a living room-sized glimpse into a band defining itself not just by sound, but by experience.
