INXS is the debut studio album by Australian rock band INXS, released in 1980 through Deluxe Records. Recorded at Trafalgar Studios in Sydney, the album was made during midnight sessions after the band had often played one or more live shows earlier in the evening. INXS co produced the record with Duncan McGuire, with all songs credited to the six members of the band.
The album reflects the group's early new wave, ska, and pop influences, with keyboards, saxophone, and guitar sharing a prominent role throughout the arrangements. Songs such as "On a Bus," "Newsreel Babies," "Doctor," and "Jumping" represent a sound the band would gradually move away from as later albums placed greater emphasis on post punk, rock, R&B, and dance music. "Just Keep Walking" became INXS's first Australian top 40 single.
INXS reached number 27 on the Australian albums chart and was initially released only in Australia and New Zealand. Following the band's growing international success, the album received a wider release in 1984 and later reached number 164 on the Billboard 200.
