Evolve (stylized ƎVOLVE) is the third album by Imagine Dragons, released on June 23, 2017 through Kidinakorner Records and Interscope Records. The record arrived after a short hiatus following the touring cycle for their previous album Smoke + Mirrors, with frontman Dan Reynolds describing the project as a step forward in the band’s sound.
Musically, the album blends pop rock with electronic and arena rock elements, leaning heavily into polished production and big, radio ready hooks. The singles “Believer,” “Thunder,” and “Whatever It Takes” became some of the band’s most recognizable songs, helping drive the album’s wide commercial reach and steady radio presence.
Evolve debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and went on to become one of the band’s most commercially successful releases. Despite mixed critical reception, its string of hit singles and arena sized sound kept the band firmly in the pop rock mainstream during the late 2010s.
