Pretty on the Inside is the debut studio album by Hole, released in 1991 through Caroline Records. Produced by Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and Don Fleming, the album was recorded in Los Angeles over the course of a week and captures the early lineup of Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, Jill Emery, and Caroline Rue.

The record draws heavily from punk, noise rock, Los Angeles hardcore, and the New York no wave scene, combining distorted guitars, feedback, abrupt shifts in volume, and vocals that move between quieter passages and screaming. Love's lyrics address beauty, sexuality, violence, alienation, prostitution, self image, and self destruction, often through fragmented or abstract narratives. Songs including "Teenage Whore," "Garbadge Man," "Mrs. Jones," and the title track reflect the abrasive approach that distinguished Hole's earliest material.

"Teenage Whore" reached number one on the UK Indie Chart, helping the album gain an early audience in Britain. Pretty on the Inside later developed a cult following and has been cited as an influence by artists including Brody Dalle and Scout Niblett.
