xtreme Behaviour, Hinder’s debut studio album, was released in 2005 by Universal Records to mixed reviews. Despite this, it achieved 3× platinum certification by the RIAA in January 2008. All songs except “Shoulda” were co-written by Brian Howes, with Social Code contributing to the latter. Notably, “Running in the Rain” was omitted from the album but performed live during their North American tour.
The album’s first single, “Get Stoned,” gained the band’s initial recognition. However, it was “Lips of an Angel” that catapulted them to fame, reaching the top spot on the pop charts in 2006. The third single, “How Long,” resonated with rock stations across the US, while “Better Than Me” served as the fourth single. As of July 11, 2007, Extreme Behaviour had sold 2,789,275 copies in the US. Notably, even though it wasn’t released as a single, the song “By the Way” received airplay from various radio stations.
