NEW LP
New sealed copy. Pink vinyl. Gatefold jacket.
Released on September 12, 2025, Play marks Ed Sheeran’s eighth studio album and the beginning of a new creative cycle built around media control symbols. The record follows Autumn Variations (2023) and the compilation +−=÷× (Tour Collection) (2024), setting the stage for a planned series that will continue with Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Stop.
Sheeran’s return to “big pop” finds him working with a wide-ranging team of collaborators including Ilya, Blake Slatkin, Cirkut, Omer Fedi, Savan Kotecha, Elvira Anderfjärd, and longtime partner Johnny McDaid. Across its tracklist, Play blends global textures with his signature songwriting, drawing on Indian, Persian, and Punjabi influences while remaining anchored in glossy pop production.
The album was introduced through a steady run of singles: “Azizam,” “Old Phone,” “Sapphire,” “A Little More,” and “Camera.” Each track highlights a different facet of Sheeran’s palette, from the Farsi-inspired melodies of “Azizam” to the rave-tinged “Don’t Look Down” and the uptempo drive of “Sapphire.” Critics have praised the record for its buoyant energy and emotional directness, noting it as a confident step back into mainstream territory.
To support the album, Sheeran will launch the Loop Tour in December 2025, with dates across Europe and Oceania. With Play, he reasserts himself as a global pop force, balancing experimentation with the melodic instincts that have made his catalog enduringly successful.
