Songs to Learn & Sing is a compilation album by Echo & the Bunnymen, released in 1985 through Korova. It collects the band’s singles in chronological order from their first four studio albums, along with the non album singles “The Puppet” and “Never Stop”.
The collection includes songs such as “The Cutter”, “The Killing Moon”, “Seven Seas”, and “Silver”, tracing the band’s development from their early post punk recordings toward the more expansive sound of the mid 1980s. It also introduced the previously unreleased “Bring On the Dancing Horses”, later included on the soundtrack to Pretty in Pink.
Songs to Learn & Sing reached number six on the UK Albums Chart. Its combination of major singles and key non album tracks made it a concise overview of Echo & the Bunnymen’s first several years.
