Down by the Jetty is the debut album by English rock band Dr. Feelgood, released in January 1975 on United Artists Records. Recorded in mono, the album captures the raw, pub-rock sound that defined the band’s early years and set them apart from the prevailing glam and progressive trends of the time.

Mixing stripped-down originals such as Keep It Out of Sight with covers like Bonie Moronie and Tequila, the record channels the spirit of early British rhythm and blues while hinting at the energy that would soon fuel punk rock.

Over time, Down by the Jetty has been recognized as a key influence on the late-1970s rock landscape. Paul Weller and Bob Geldof have both cited it as formative, while members of Blondie, the Ramones, and Richard Hell’s group were introduced to it by Blondie drummer Clem Burke. In 2006, Uncut ranked it among the 100 greatest debut albums of all time.
