Dexter Calling... is a 1962 album by American jazz saxophonist Dexter Gordon, recorded in 1961 for Blue Note. It followed Doin’ Allright, his first release for the label, and was recorded just three days later as part of the same early 1960s run.
Several tracks, including “Soul Sister,” “I Want More,” and “Ernie’s Tune,” were originally written for the Los Angeles production of Jack Gelber’s play The Connection in 1960, reflecting the crossover between jazz and theatre during that period.
