That shift carries into the songwriting, which remains grounded in Barnett’s conversational style but leans more reflective in tone. Themes of routine, displacement, and self awareness run throughout, shaped by the changes in her surroundings and day to day life. The writing feels more measured, with a subtle distance compared to the immediacy of her earlier work.
