NEW DOUBLE LP

New sealed copy. 2025 repress.

Chris Stapleton's debut solo album, Traveller, was released on May 5, 2015, through Mercury Nashville. Following years as a successful Nashville songwriter and frontman for the bluegrass group The SteelDrivers, Stapleton assembled a collection of Southern rock, country, and blues-influenced material produced by Dave Cobb. The album features both original compositions and covers, including a rendition of the David Allan Coe song "Tennessee Whiskey."

Traveller initially received modest commercial attention but gained massive momentum after Stapleton's show-stopping performance with Justin Timberlake at the 2015 CMA Awards. The album subsequently topped the Billboard 200 and Country Albums charts, selling over 150,000 copies in the week following the performance. Singles including "Tennessee Whiskey," "Parachute," and "Nobody to Blame" became country radio staples, with "Tennessee Whiskey" becoming Stapleton's signature song.

The album swept the 2015 CMA Awards, winning Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year. It also earned the Grammy Award for Best Country Album in 2016. Critics praised Stapleton's powerful, soulful vocals and the album's raw, traditional sound, which stood in contrast to the pop-influenced direction of much contemporary country music. Traveller has been certified 5× Platinum by the RIAA and revitalized interest in roots-oriented country music.
