Remember The Humans is the first Broken Social Scene studio album since 2017 and reunites the band with producer David Newfeld, who previously worked on You Forgot It in People and Broken Social Scene. Across twelve tracks, the album blends layered guitars, horns, electronics, and vocal collaborations while keeping a strong melodic focus at the center of the arrangements.
The record features contributions from longtime collaborators including Feist, Hannah Georgas, and Lisa Lobsinger, continuing the collective and fluid songwriting approach that has long defined the group. Kevin Drew remains a central presence, though the album frequently shifts focus between different voices and perspectives.
Thematically, Remember The Humans reflects on disconnection, overstimulation, and the challenge of maintaining humanity within modern life. While expansive in sound, the album stays grounded in the band’s mix of indie rock, orchestral textures, and communal songwriting.
