Deja Entendu, Brand New’s second studio album, was released on June 17, 2003, by Triple Crown Records and Razor & Tie. It showcased the band’s maturation from their pop punk debut, Your Favourite Weapon, and marked their ambition to transcend the emo/post-hardcore scene.

Considered their breakthrough, Deja Entendu charted in the US (number 63) and earned MTV airplay for its singles “The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows” and “Sic Transit Gloria… Glory Fades.” Certified Gold four years later, its commercial success led to a signing with DreamWorks/Interscope Records.

The album received widespread acclaim and has since been recognized as one of the greatest of the decade and from the emo genre.
