Foiled is the fourth studio album by Blue October, released in 2006 through Universal Records. Recorded during 2005, the album combines alternative rock with elements of post grunge and melodic pop rock, while showcasing the emotionally direct songwriting of vocalist Justin Furstenfeld.
The album includes the singles “Hate Me”, “Into the Ocean”, “She's My Ride Home”, and “X Amount of Words”. Themes of mental health, addiction, relationships, and personal struggle run throughout the record, with “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean” becoming the band's most successful and widely recognized songs.
Foiled marked Blue October's commercial breakthrough, becoming the band's first album to chart on the Billboard 200 and later earning Platinum certification in both the United States and Canada. Its success significantly expanded the group's audience and established the foundation for the band's continued popularity in the years that followed.
