The Singles is a compilation by Bikini Kill, released in 1998 on Kill Rock Stars. Bringing together three singles originally issued between 1993 and 1995, the collection captures the band during the final years of its original run and showcases a more polished recording style while retaining the urgency of its riot grrrl roots.
The album includes the Joan Jett produced New Radio sessions, with Jett also contributing guitar and vocals to the opening tracks. Songs such as “New Radio”, “Demirep”, and “I Like Fucking” combine punk, garage rock, and pop influences with lyrics addressing feminism, identity, sexuality, and gender politics.
Originally released as a convenient collection of hard to find singles, The Singles has since become one of the most widely available entries in Bikini Kill's catalogue. The compilation was reissued in 2018 and continues to serve as an accessible introduction to the band's influential body of work.
