Out of Exile is the second studio album by Audioslave, released in 2005 through Epic and Interscope Records. The album found the group moving beyond the combination of Chris Cornell with the former members of Rage Against the Machine and developing a more unified sound of its own.
The record balances hard rock with blues, soul, and more restrained melodic writing. “Be Yourself”, “Your Time Has Come”, and “Doesn’t Remind Me” pair Tom Morello’s distinctive guitar work with Cornell’s increasingly personal lyrics, while the rhythm section gives the album a leaner and more varied feel than the band’s debut.
Out of Exile debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum in the United States.
