Petal is the eighth studio album by Ariana Grande, released in 2026 through Republic Records and her Babydoll Music imprint. Co-written and executive produced by Grande and Ilya Salmanzadeh, the album follows Eternal Sunshine and develops the electronic R&B approach of her recent work.
Across 12 tracks, Petal combines midtempo pop, layered synthesizers, drum machine rhythms, and subdued vocal arrangements with elements of new wave, dream pop, hip hop, and pop rock. “Hate That I Made You Love Me” addresses both a damaged relationship and Grande’s uneasy relationship with fame, while the title track pairs R&B production with distorted synths, guitars, and shifting rhythms.
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” reached number one in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The album also includes “Kiss Me”, “Stay”, “Freak”, and “Like I Do”, with lyrics centred on public scrutiny, emotional attachment, and personal release.
