I Must Be Dreaming is the third studio album by Alabama Shakes, released in 2026 through Island Records. It is the band's first studio album in more than eleven years, following Sound & Color in 2015, and their first as a trio featuring Brittany Howard, Heath Fogg, and Zac Cockrell.
Produced by Alabama Shakes with Shawn Everett and recorded at Sound Emporium and Blackbird Studio in Nashville, the album develops a richly textured psychedelic soul sound while retaining the band's foundation in rock, blues, and Southern soul. Its lyrics explore love, mortality, human connection, hope, and the contradictions of contemporary life.
The album was preceded by the singles "Another Life," "American Dream," and "I Feel Hope Coming." Its release marked Alabama Shakes' full return following a lengthy hiatus and renewed touring activity beginning in 2025.
