NEW DOUBLE LP
New sealed copy. 2018 remastered reissue. Gatefold jacket.
Released in 1995, The Edges of Twilight marked a turning point for The Tea Party, blending their hard-edged blues rock with a deeper exploration of global sounds. Drawing on a wide range of instruments from across the world, the album expanded the sonic ideas first introduced on Splendor Solis, with a vision that echoed the cultural scope of Peter Gabriel’s later solo work. The result was a heavy, atmospheric record that fused Middle Eastern percussion, Indian strings, and Western rock into something distinct and immersive.
The album reached number 11 on the Canadian charts and went double platinum, earning the band Juno nominations for Best Rock Album and Group of the Year. Songs like “Sister Awake” and “Fire in the Head” became defining tracks in the band’s catalog, and the record helped establish The Tea Party as a powerful presence in 90s Canadian rock. The album title comes from a chapter in Tom Cowan’s Fire in the Head, a nod to the spiritual and mythic themes woven throughout.
