Not Like Everybody Else is a studio covers album by English punk rock band The Damned, released on 23 January 2026 via earMUSIC.
The album consists entirely of cover versions drawn largely from 1960s garage rock, psychedelia, and early hard rock, reflecting the formative influences shared by the band’s original lineup. It was recorded in Los Angeles over a short series of sessions with producer Mikal Blue and features Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Paul Gray, Monty Oxymoron, and drummer Rat Scabies, marking his first studio appearance with the band in several decades.
Not Like Everybody Else was conceived following the death of founding guitarist Brian James in 2025 and serves as a reflective project rather than a traditional new-material release. The track selection includes songs by artists such as The Kinks, The Stooges, Pink Floyd, The Yardbirds, and The Rolling Stones, interpreted with restrained arrangements that largely retain the character of the originals.
The album was released alongside the band’s fiftieth anniversary activities and received generally positive reviews, with critics noting the historical focus, cohesive song selection, and the significance of the lineup involved.
