NEW LP
New sealed copy. 2022 repress.
Deftones' sixth studio album, Diamond Eyes, marked a pivotal moment in the band's career. Released on May 4, 2010, via Reprise Records, it was their first album to feature bassist Sergio Vega, who stepped in following the tragic accident that left founding bassist Chi Cheng in a coma in late 2008. Initially, the band had been working on Eros as the follow-up to Saturday Night Wrist (2006), but in the wake of Cheng’s condition, they opted to shelve the project and shift focus to Diamond Eyes in mid-2009.
The album was both a critical and commercial success, debuting in the top ten of the Billboard 200 and securing high chart positions internationally. It became the band's highest-charting release on the Billboard 200 since their 2003 self-titled record. Diamond Eyes yielded four singles—its anthemic title track, the blistering “Rocket Skates,” the ethereal “Sextape,” and the menacing “You’ve Seen the Butcher”—each showcasing Deftones' signature blend of crushing heaviness and atmospheric beauty.
