Spiritual Healing is the third studio album by Death, released in 1990 through Combat Records. Recorded at Morrisound Recording with producer Scott Burns, it features Chuck Schuldiner alongside guitarist James Murphy, bassist Terry Butler, and drummer Bill Andrews.
The album marks a clear transition in Death's development, moving away from the gore focused themes of their first two records toward social issues and more complex songwriting. Its music retains the band's death metal foundation while introducing more technical arrangements, melodic lead guitar, shifting time signatures, and progressive elements that would become increasingly central to their later work.
