Record Store Day April 2026: What You Need to Know

Record Store Day April 2026: What You Need to Know

Record Store Day is back, and this year it lands on Saturday, April 18th. It also happens to be our first RSD in our brand new street-level home at 703A Queen Street West, and we couldn't be more ready for it.

Coming in on the Day

For the uninitiated: Record Store Day is an annual worldwide celebration of independent record stores. Labels and artists release special, limited edition vinyl exclusively through indie shops, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once they're gone, they're gone. There are no pre-orders and no online sales on the day itself.

This year's official list features titles across three categories. Exclusives are released only at indie record stores, full stop. RSD First titles come to indie stores first but may appear elsewhere down the line. Small Run titles are limited pressings under 1,000 copies and can be harder to track down.

The full list with artwork and descriptions is at recordstoreday.com and we recommend browsing it ahead of time so you know what you're after.

We order directly from our distributors, just like any other release, which means we make our own decisions about which titles to bring in. We won't carry everything on the list, but we'll stock what we think our customers will love. Quantities are strictly limited and allocated, so we can't guarantee every title. Come in with your priorities in order.

We open our doors at 8:00 AM on April 18th. All RSD titles are strictly one copy per customer. Our regular stock will be fully available alongside the special releases, so there's plenty to explore even if your wishlist sells out fast.

One thing past RSD days have taught us: if you want first pick, don't show up at 8. In previous years we've seen lineups forming as early as 6 or 7 AM. We haven't had anyone camping overnight yet, but we wouldn't rule it out. Come prepared to wait in a short queue, and know that we do everything we can to bring in as much stock as possible. That said, each store's allocation is extremely limited, so the earlier you arrive the better your chances.

Didn't find what you were after on the day? Starting Sunday, April 19th, record stores can choose to sell their remaining RSD titles online, which is what we always to with remaining titles.

Can't Make it In? Online Opens Sunday, April 19th

Per official Record Store Day policy, RSD titles cannot be sold online on April 18th. They are in-store only on the day. This isn't our rule; it's a condition of participating in RSD, and every store follows it.

Online sales of remaining RSD stock open the following morning at 8:00 AM EST on Sunday, April 19th.

If you can't make it in person, that's your window. Here's how to be ready:

  1. Create an account on our site before the morning of the 19th, and make sure you're signed in on the device you'll be shopping from.
  2. Save your preferred payment method in your account. Note that email money transfer will be temporarily disabled during the online RSD sale.
  3. If you want to add non-RSD items to hit the free shipping threshold, add them to your cart before 8:00 AM so you're not scrambling when titles go live.
  4. Be at your device and ready at 8:00 AM sharp. It moves fast.
  5. Remember: adding something to your cart does not hold it. It's first to checkout, not first in cart.

If a title sells out before you get there, we won't always know immediately whether more stock is available from labels and distributors. We'll follow up as soon as we have answers, so feel free to reach out and we'll get back to you once we know.

This is our first Record Store Day at the new location, and we're excited to celebrate it with you in person or online. See you April 18th.
