So Close to What is the third studio album by Tate McRae, released on February 21, 2025 through RCA Records. Co written with a wide group of collaborators including Ryan Tedder, Blake Slatkin, and Emile Haynie, the album blends pop, dance pop, power pop, and R&B into a polished, radio focused sound.
The release was led by the singles “It’s OK I’m OK,” “2 Hands,” and “Sports Car,” with “Revolving Door” arriving alongside the album. A deluxe edition, So Close to What???, followed later in 2025 and included the hit “Tit for Tat,” which became one of McRae’s biggest chart successes.
So Close to What received generally positive reviews and marked a major commercial step forward, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 and topping charts across multiple countries. It also set the stage for McRae’s first arena run, the Miss Possessive Tour, reflecting her shift into a larger global pop presence.
