Romanticize the Dive is Metric’s tenth studio album and a reunion with producer Gavin Brown, whose earlier work with the band shaped Fantasies and Synthetica. Recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York and Main Street Studios in Toronto, the album reflects on the band’s early years while revisiting elements of the sound associated with those records.
Introduced by the singles “Victim Of Luck,” “Time Is a Bomb,” and “Crush Forever,” the record balances synth driven tension and guitar focused urgency with a more reflective lyrical thread. Early reviews noted a return to some of the band’s foundational strengths, while the production reconnects Metric with a familiar collaborator.
Released through the band’s own Metric Music International, Romanticize the Dive continues a longstanding independent approach while revisiting themes and sounds that have run through much of the band’s catalogue.
