Make Up Is a Lie is the fourteenth solo studio album by Morrissey, released on March 6, 2026. The album marks his return to Sire Records after a period without a record contract.
Much of the material was originally recorded in early 2023 at La Fabrique Studios in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli, continuing a long running collaboration between the two. The project underwent several revisions over the following years, including changes to the track list and title, before being finalized and issued under the name Make Up Is a Lie.
The album includes songs written with members of Morrissey’s touring band and reflects the singer’s continued move toward independently produced recordings.
