Stigmata is the second studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. Released through Century Media Records, it was the band's first album to receive worldwide distribution and features Johan Liiva on vocals, Michael and Christopher Amott on guitars, and session drummer Peter Wildoer.
The album expands on the sound of Black Earth with a stronger emphasis on melody, more prominent lead guitar work, and elements of traditional heavy metal, while retaining the dense riffing and aggressive pacing of the band's early material. Tracks such as "Beast of Man," "Bridge of Destiny," and the title track reflect this broader approach.
Stigmata helped establish Arch Enemy beyond the Japanese market and was later reissued in 2009 with revised packaging and bonus material, followed by another reissue in 2023.
