The Ghostbusters soundtrack was released on July 15, 2016, by RCA Records alongside the film, a reboot of the 1984 original. The album features 14 songs including original tracks and three versions of "Ghostbusters"—Ray Parker Jr.'s original, plus covers by Walk the Moon featuring Pentatonix and Fall Out Boy featuring Missy Elliott. The film score was composed by Theodore Shapiro and released separately through Sony Classical Records on July 8.
The soundtrack includes contributions from Zayn Malik, Elle King, 5 Seconds of Summer, Mark Ronson, Passion Pit, and A$AP Ferg. Singles released ahead of the album include Elle King's "Good Girls," G-Eazy's "Saw It Coming" featuring Jeremih, Fall Out Boy's "Ghostbusters (I'm Not Afraid)," and 5 Seconds of Summer's "Girls Talk Boys."
