NEW LP
New sealed copy. 2025 reissue on red coloured vinyl.
Kasabian's second studio album, Empire, was released on August 28, 2006, through RCA Records and Columbia Records. Produced by Jim Abbiss, who also helmed their debut, the album features the Leicester band's blend of alternative rock, electronic elements, and swagger. The lineup includes Tom Meighan on vocals, Serge Pizzorno on guitar and vocals, Chris Edwards on bass, and Ian Matthews on drums.
The album produced several hit singles including "Empire," "Shoot the Runner," and "Me Plus One." "Empire" became one of the band's signature songs, with its anthemic chorus and driving rhythm. The record showcases a more confident and polished sound compared to their debut while maintaining the raw energy that established their reputation.
Empire debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and received Platinum certification. Critics praised the album's ambition and the band's ability to craft stadium-ready rock songs. The record solidified Kasabian's position as one of Britain's leading rock acts of the 2000s and set the stage for their continued commercial success.
