Let Your Dim Light Shine is the seventh studio album by Soul Asylum, released on June 6, 1995, by Columbia Records. It followed the commercial breakthrough of Grave Dancers Union (1992).
The album includes the band’s highest charting single, “Misery,” which received extensive radio airplay and was later parodied by Weird Al Yankovic as “Syndicated Inc.” on Bad Hair Day. Let Your Dim Light Shine marked the first Soul Asylum album to feature drummer Sterling Campbell as a full time member, following his partial involvement on Grave Dancers Union.
The album’s title is taken from a lyric in the song “Promises Broken,” reflecting the more restrained and introspective tone that runs through much of the record.
