NEW LP

New sealed copy. 2025 indie record store exclusive limited edition reissue on white and blue marbled vinyl. Remastered by Bernie Grundman.

Released on April 22, 1985 through Paisley Park and Warner Bros, this was Prince’s seventh studio album and the third to credit the Revolution. Arriving less than a year after Purple Rain, it moved in a different direction, trading that record’s stadium-scaled rock and pop for a brighter, more psychedelic sound built around layered arrangements and denser production.

Prince asked the label to keep promotion minimal so the album could be taken as a complete work rather than driven by early singles. As a result, no singles were issued until several weeks after release. Even with the quieter rollout, the album became his second to reach number one on the Billboard 200, supported by the success of Raspberry Beret and Pop Life, both of which reached the top ten.

Around the World in a Day was certified double platinum in the United States in July 1985.
